Formalities

Family Reunification Residence

Family reunification is the immigration procedure by means of which a non-European citizen with a residence permit in Spain can bring his or her family members to the country, granting them a residence and work permit.

Who can be regrouped?

  1. Spouse or stable partner: The existence of a marriage or a stable relationship similar to marriage must be proven.
  2. Children: Both the applicant and his/her spouse or partner, including adopted children. They must be under 18 years of age or over 18 years of age but dependent.
  3. Parents: If the applicant has long-term residence or has renewed his/her temporary residence at least once, he/she may reunite his/her parents, provided they are over 65 years of age or have reasons of need.

Family reunification is an important step for the social and cultural integration of immigrants.
