The Tarjeta de Residencia de Larga Duración en España and the Tarjeta de Residencia de Larga Duración-UE are two types of permits that allow non-citizens to reside legally in Spain and in EU countries, respectively.

Both cards are proof of legal and stable residence status in Spain and offer a range of rights and benefits, including access to the labour market, health and education systems.

Long-Term Residence Card in Spain
This card allows non-citizens to reside and work in Spain indefinitely, under the same conditions as Spanish citizens. To obtain it, it is generally required to have lived legally and continuously in Spain for a period of five years. In addition, applicants must prove that they have sufficient financial means to support themselves, as well as health coverage.
Long-Term Residence Card-EU
This card offers similar benefits to the previous card but with the added advantage of facilitating mobility and residence in other EU countries. Holders of this card can move to another EU country to work, study or live, although they may be subject to certain regulations in the destination country. In addition to the residency and financial means requirements, other criteria such as integration into Spanish society may be required to obtain the card.
